With over 30 years experience in dance education, 18 years in professional bodywork, and as a mother of three beautiful children, Dorie is grateful for each way she is able to continue to touch lives through movement, dance and the performing arts. She began her formal dance education here in South Florida at the Dance Academy of Deerfield Beach and the Dillard High School of Performing Arts. Moving to New York, she continued her dance education at STEPS, studying with Susie Taylor, Joe Lanteri and Michelle Assaf. Professionally, Dorie has instructed dance programs and performance companies at numerous studios in New York and Florida. She has performed worldwide with Norwegian and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a featured performer and is also grateful for a successful career on stage in musical theater. In addition to her work in the Performing Arts, Dorie is also a Florida Licensed L.M.T. specializing in the ancient healing art of Traditional Thai bodywork. She enjoys blending her knowledge of anatomy and physiology into her dance programming, inspiring her students to a deeper understanding of their dance experience. For the past 12 years she has owned and operated the Dance Arts Conservatory Center for the Performing Arts in Wellington, Florida with her husband Rocky. Their combined artistic vision at Dance Arts Conservatory Center for the Performing Arts has created a diverse dance program from which their students emerge with a powerfully rounded dance experience. Committed to bringing the arts to the community on a significant level, they co-founded Wellington Ballet Theatre in 2011, a not for profit 501(c)3 company and charitable organization providing cultural enrichment through the art of dance and innovative performance, staging three full-length ballets annually. Inspired by the tremendous response to this performance based programming, in 2015 they also launched "Broadway Stars" an outstanding musical theater program where students are emerged in learning the art of performing Broadway musicals in professional theaters. The Duvalls currently produce over 11(+) staged theater works annually, and also bring many artistic dance productions to local stages through their Momentum Dance Company and Wellington Ballet Theatre Outreach performances. Dorie serves as the Director of Wardrobe and manages marketing, website and program design.  She is a professional member Actors Equity Association and Dance Educators of America.
